Below you’ll discover quick answers to your questions regarding the policies and procedures upheld by The Litchfield Company. In developing these policies, Litchfield Beach & Golf Resort considers the needs and comfort of all guests with hopes of making each stay in our rental properties a positive experience for everyone. We strive to provide the best in customer service and the vacation experience, and these policies help to ensure that you will enjoy every minute of your stay in beautiful Pawleys Island, South Carolina. Beach House Rentals:
  • 50% of the total reservation is due at time of booking.
  • Your reservation’s remaining balance is due at time of check-in.
  • A valid photo I.D., as well as the credit card used to pay your deposit, will be required at check-in.
All other vacation Rentals:
  • An advance deposit equal to the first night’s stay will be taken upon booking for all vacation guests.
  • Your reservation’s remaining balance is due at time of check-in.
  • A deposit of $100.00 per person will be taken upon booking for all golf packages. Final payments for all golf package reservations are due 14 days prior to the arrival date of the stay and play package.
  • A valid photo I.D., as well as the credit card used to pay your deposit, will be required at check-in.
  • ACCEPTABLE FORMS OF PAYMENT: include personal check (are NOT accepted within 30 days of your arrival date), credit card, money order or cashier’s check. Accepted credit cards include Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover. Please be sure that your reservation number is on any remittance so that we can be sure your payment is accounted for correctly. We do not accept wire transfers.
  • RETURNED CHECKS: There will be a return check fee of $40. Returned checks must be replaced with certified funds or a credit card payment within 7 days
Beach House Rentals:
  • Once the deposit has been received, NO REFUNDS or ALTERATIONS can be made on a resrevation. Guests are strongly encouraged to purchase Travel Insurance to protect themselves and their traveling companions. Please contact the travel insurance for coverage details
  • Travel insurance is being offered by Rental Guardian. The insurance premium will be billed on renter’s initial vacation rental agreement and is 7% of the rental rate. For more detailed information, please visit rentalguardian.com
  • Guests who do not arrive on their scheduled arrival date and do not inform the property of their wish to change their stay dates will forfeit the advance deposit.
All other vacation Rentals:
  • The advance deposit is 100% refundable if a reservation is canceled up to 14 days prior to the scheduled arrival date
  • Reservations canceled within 14 days of the arrival date can reallocate the advance deposit funds toward future dates within one year of the original stay dates. Please note that changes to the reservation will be subject to availability and any room rate differences.
  • Guests who do not arrive on their scheduled arrival date and fail to notify the resort of a change to their stay dates, therefore acknowledge forfeiture of advance deposit funds.
  • There is no change fee if a guest wishes to change accommodations or move their reservation dates. Please note that changes to the reservation will be subject to availability and any room rate differences.
  • For Monthly Rentals Only: All deposits are due at the time of booking. Full amount of the deposit is non-refundable. No changes to the dates of arrival are permitted within 30 days of arrival. Payment of full stay is required upon check in. There will be absolutely no refunds on early departures. Additional requirements for winter rentals do apply.

Check in time is 4:00 PM EST and check out time is 11:00 AM EST. We cannot guarantee early check in or late check out requests. There will be a full day charge for unauthorized late check outs. All guests must be 21 years of age or older to check in.

A Security Deposit in the amount of $250 is required at check-in for every unit by way of cash or Credit/Debit Card. This amount will be refunded provided there is no damage or missing items from the unit. Credit/Debit Card authorizations may take up to 14 days to be released depending on card issuer. Pre-Paid cards are not accepted for this deposit.

Due to HOA restrictions and policies, motorcycles, gas powered golf carts, trailers, campers, boats, jet skis, etc. are not permitted at the resort or in any of the gated communities. Alternative parking arrangements are available in our North Parking lot by our registration office (video surveillance in use 24/7). Space is limited and is on a first come, first serve basis.

We have a limited number of vacation rentals that are dog friendly. Dogs (no cats) are only allowed in designated “Pet Friendly” rentals. NO EXCEPTIONS. Pets are limited to two domestic, housebroken dogs unless otherwise advertised. There is a non-refundable $250.00 (plus tax) pet cleaning and spray fee that will be charged to each guest bringing a pet. Any violation with pets in a “No Pets” vacation rental or any pet other than a dog will be cause for termination of tenancy.

We are a NON SMOKING facility and additional charges may incur if this policy is violated.

Should a house party (chaperoned or un-chaperoned) occur, occupancy will be immediately terminated. Should a parent check into a rental and later leave students or minors, the students/minors will be evicted if we find it necessary to do so. No refund, including unused rental amounts, will be refunded.

Please note that grills are not permitted.

Your Health and Safety is of utmost importance, therefore, if the “Do Not Disturb” sign remains on your door for an extended period-of-time and we are unable to contact you, we may knock on your door and if no answer, enter your room to determine your well-being. Please understand it is not our intention to disturb guests during their vacation, however, we reserve the right to enter rooms to check on the safety and security of our guests and property as well as to perform maintenance and repairs.
