Do you love a good 5K? If so, you’ll want to check out the 9th Annual Race for the Inlet on March 29, 2014. It’s a great way to make new memories with family and friends and also help out with a great cause. Whether you are a runner or walker, it doesn’t matter, everyone is invited to participate.
It’s a great event to get the entire family involved as the race encourages all ages and skill levels. All participants will be timed and prizes will be awarded afterward, with prize categories including top male and female for the 5K and 8K, as well as top male and female in age groups.
The race starts at 8 a.m. on March 29. The event begins and ends at Morse Park Landing located on Highway 17 Business (directly next to Hot Fish Club) in Murrells Inlet. The courses throughout Murrells Inlet are all USATF certified (USA track and field) and ready to use.
All participants are encouraged to register by March 25, however, you can register up until the day of the event. All proceeds will benefit the Murrells Inlet 2020 organization, a 501c3 non-profit group dedicated to making the Inlet a nice place to live, work and visit.
After the race is finished, take time and enjoy the Murrells Inlet area! It’s a wonderful location to visit and relax, especially if you are looking to get away for a day trip. There are many unique shops, fishing areas and restaurants to try out. Murrells Inlet is a popular spot for families and friends to make new memories and enjoy the beautiful outdoors.
