August 19, 2009, Litchfield Beach, S.C. – Litchfield Beach & Golf Resort will play host to the third annual Just the Girls Weekend, September 25-27, 2009, and present the latest in food, gardening, golf, tennis and decorating. The popular fall event has achieved sell-outs in each of the first two years and expects similar attendance in 2009.

The Just the Girls weekend kicks off Friday, September 25 with a welcome reception at Brookgreen Gardens in Litchfield Beach. Guests will have the opportunity to register, pick up their goodie bag, meet fellow guests and enjoy Brookgreen Gardens, a National Historic Landmark with the most significant collection of figurative sculpture in an outdoor setting by American artists in the world.

After breakfast on Saturday, Brookgreen Gardens horticulturalist Sara Millar will present a container garden demonstration. Guests have the remainder of the day free to shop in the unique retail shops on the south end of the Grand Strand; play golf or tennis at the one of the onsite Litchfield Beach & Golf Resort facilities, visit the onsite spa, Michelle Elizabeth’s, take a tour of historic Georgetown or relax on Litchfield Beach & Golf Resort’s private beach.

Later Saturday evening, guests will attend a cocktail reception followed by a cooking demonstration from local celebrity chef, Bill Austin. On Sunday, guests will learn floral tips from Barry West of Blossoms Fresh Flowers and Events, of Pawleys Island, S.C., before adjourning for the weekend.

“We are excited to welcome the 2009 Just the Girls Weekend participants back to Litchfield Beach & Golf Resort,’ said Ray Crabb, general manager of Litchfield Beach & Golf Resort. “The Just the Girls events have been extremely popular with women from South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Michigan and Georgia and we look forward to seeing our friends again in September. The event has sold out quickly in the last two years and we encourage women to register early if they want to avoid the waiting list.”
