Love Oysters? Get Your Tickets for the 10th Annual Murrells Inlet Oyster Roast
Murrells Inlet is firmly established as the “Seafood Capital” of South Carolina, so there’s really no better place to belly up for all-you-can-eat oysters than the annual Murrells Inlet Oyster Roast. This year’s event will be held Nov. 23 from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The reputation for great seafood stems from the town’s history as an authentic fishing village, where you can enjoy the delicacies of the sea directly from fishermen, at area markets and at a wide array of seafood restaurants in town and dotted along the picturesque inlet itself.
This year, the oyster roast will be held in the parking lot of Crazy Sister Marina’s (also known as Captain Dick’s) Wicked Tuna Restaurant, a relatively new addition to the Murrells Inlet dining scene that’s already established itself as a great purveyor of seafood and sushi.
At the roast, oyster lovers will line up to tables for a full-fledged oyster feast. In addition to all the bivalve deliciousness, you will also be able to buy other food items, including: wings; burgers; hot dogs; and chowder. Beverages including beer and soda will also be available. Admission to the event is free, but the all-you-can-eat oyster tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door while they last, with additional food and drinks priced separately.
This event is a favorite for locals and visitors, so plant to come down—and don’t forget to bring an oyster knife (don’t worry, if you forget yours, you can buy one at the roast).
