Lots to Like at Litchfield

While many Grand Strand vacationers want to stay close to all the popular attractions and neon-lit shops and restaurants, others prefer a relaxing getaway in a more laid-back atmosphere.

Those are the visitors who choose to stay at Litchfield Beach & Golf Resort, a 600-acre vacation oasis located on the coastal South Carolina Lowcountry. And once they find it, they never stay anywhere else.

That’s the case of recent and regular guest Karen Gorman, who enjoys getting away from it all at Litchfield Golf & Beach Resort. She and husband Kevin live in the Lake Norman area, just outside of Charlotte, NC.

“We love Litchfield and always recommend it to people looking for a nice beachfront place to stay,” Gorman said. “We started a few years ago and ever since, we try to go twice a summer.”

Like many Litchfield regulars, they love the secluded stretches of beach that surround the resort property, as well as the excellent amenities of oceanfront pools, biking and hiking trails, golf and tennis and more. With Webster’s Lowcountry Grill and Starbuck’s located on-site, as well as a health and fitness center, a full-service spa, world-class golf and other recreational activities, there is plenty to do without getting in your car.

For those who do venture off the property, the neighboring towns of Pawleys Island and Murrells Inlet offer lots of great attractions, such as Brookgreen Gardens, Huntington Beach State Park and the Murrells Inlet Marsh Walk. Excellent dining and shopping opportunities abound and, of course, there’s also more golf. Myrtle Beach is only 15 miles away, but most prefer to stay and play in the

But the main reasons the Gormans keep coming back year after year are the comfortable accommodations and the friendly staff. For all the bells and whistles found at around some resorts, the simplicity of a clean, cozy place to stay and getting a steady dose of Southern hospitality can help make for a memorable vacation getaway.

“We recently started staying at Bridgewater and just love it,” she said. “We are always so impressed with the staff and units. We have made such great memories at the beach!”

And many more to come, here at Litchfield Beach.
