Atalaya Castle Annual Arts and Crafts Festival.

Atalaya is the former home of the world famous sculptor, Anna Hyatt Huntington.  This is a Moorish-style castle that is a coastal fortress.  It was built by Archer Huntington in 1930.  During this time, Archer and his wife Anna were working on their current project nearby their home, Brookgreen Gardens.  The Huntington’s donated the castle as well as Brookgreen Gardens for everyone to enjoy.  Many of Anna’s sculptures were created at their home Atalaya.
