Top 5 Restaurants in Pawleys Island

Litchfield Beach   |   08 Oct 2016

Litchfield Beach and neighboring Pawleys Island are considered hot spot for great South Carolina country cooking and Lowcountry cuisine. Using fresh local ingredients, including seafood plucked from nearby waters and homegrown produce, these coastal communities are famous for serving food so good that folks drive from miles around for lunch and dinner.

If you want to try other area restaurants, you're staying in the right place. Here are the top five restaurants in Litchfield Beach and Pawleys Island, and all of them are within a five-mile drive of your vacation home away from home:

* BisQit: Don't let the name fool you. Yes, BisQit serves a delicious breakfast lineup that ranges from country classics, like their namesake jumbo-sized biscuits, to healthier fare like the popular Banana Granola Pancakes. But when breakfast turns to lunch and dinner, BisQit serves some of the most incredible hamburgers, fries and shakes on the Grand Strand. BisQit also serves some unique items, such as homemade beef jerky and spiked milkshakes, and occasionally has live music when it turns into a hip hangout at night.

* Chive Blossom Cafe: Some of the best restaurants are the hardest to find, and that's the case Chive Blossom Cafe. Tucked away in a modest home off North Causeway Drive, this Southern-cooking secret spot has been sniffed out by those who can follow their noses to the house special Lobster Bisque. Elegantly decorated and walled with windows that overlook live oak trees and Spanish moss, the Chive Blossom serves beautiful cuisine to match the view, including the Crab and Avacado Salad, Fried Green Tomatoes, seafood and steaks, and an extensive wine list. The perfect place for a romantic date.

* Frank's: This Pawleys Island establishment is actually two restaurants in one - Frank's, the upscale eatery inside an old house, and Frank's Outback, the covered outdoor patio deck with its own distinct character and vibe. Both serve excellent food, focusing on fresh local seafood and Lowcountry classics like Shrimp & Grits, Quail & Eggs, Crab Cakes, steaks and local fish for great surf-and-turf combos. The atmosphere at Frank's is a bit more formal, while Frank's Outback offers a nice view, fireplace, fountain and live oak trees. There is no wrong choice.

* Litchfield Fish House: Come as you are to this local institution, which is located just outside the Litchfield Beach & Golf property. Yes, the giant shark on the roof might set off your tourist-trap alarm, but this seafood shack serves excellent shrimp, crab, fish and oysters fresh from local waters. Hot hushpuppies and a cold beer are a nice way to relax while you decide on your dinner, and the outdoor patio deck is a fun place to hang out and have appetizers and drinks.

* Nosh: Located in the courtyard of the popular Pawleys Island Hammock Shops, this is the perfect place to have a bite to eat during a shopping trip to the open-air mall. Whether you want a light snack or a full meal, Nosh offers a nice selection of dishes and apps that represent local cuisine with a creative twist. Fried Calimari, She-Crab Soup, Shrimp and Grits and Pulled Pork BBQ are among the house specialties.

No matter where you dine, you will find the perfect place to relax and recover from a delicious meal at Litchfield Beach & Golf Resort. The abundance of local Pawleys Island restaurants is just one more reason to spend your vacation with us.
